The information in this Web site is for current students enrolled in graduate degree programs

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate students, in the department, are offered to as many students as possible based on available funding. Graduate assistantships in the department carry a stipend and a full tuition waiver for the semester in which the assistantship is awarded. Students should review the graduate assistant postings that are available on the Illinois State Jobs Web site. Department postings are listed under Psychology - 462. Assistantships may also be available in other departments or offices on campus. Following the instructions for completing the online application.

Students who accept a graduate assistantship are considered employees of Illinois State. State employees are required to pass each fiscal year the State of Illinois Ethics Training. Students will be notified, during the fall semester, of of the online training Web site and the deadline for passing the ethics training. Students who do not pass the Illinois Ethics Training risk losing their assistantship and tuition waiver.

The department competitively awards tuition waivers to students who show promise for success and who have not received a fellowship or other award for tuition costs. The tuition waiver application is available on the Graduate School Web site. Students also need to complete the Selective Service Statement. The completed waiver and Statement should be submitted to the appropriate office. Tuition waivers are only available for the the cost of tuition.
