Department of Psychology at Illinois State University
Graduate students may request a course override if they are unable to register for a psychology course. Click on the link to download the PSY Course Override Request to the computer's desktop. The form is a interactive Microsoft Word document. The form must be completed on the computer, saved to the computer's desktop as a MS Word file, and submitted as an e-mail attachment to the appropriate individual listed below. A separate override request must be completed for each course.
After the override request has been submitted to the appropriate individual, that person will contact the course instructor to discuss any enrollment issues (e.g., course prerequisites, confirm the equivalence of courses taken at other institutions, enrollment numbers, and room capacity, etc.). The program or sequence coordinator for the area responsible for the course may also be consulted about the override request. If approval has been obtained for the override, the request will be forwarded to the Graduate Psychology Programs Office Manager for further processing. Students will be notified by e-mail about the status of their override request.
For graduate students in the master's program in Psychology, send the override request form as an e-mail attachment to your sequence coordinator.
For graduate students in the Counseling-Clinical Psychology Program, contact Dr. Karen Mark for a course override.
For graduate students in the doctoral or specialist programs in School Psychology,
contact Dr. Mark Swerdlik for a course override.
For graduate students outside of the Department of Psychology, submit the override request as an e-mail attachment to the individual identified below, based on the PSY course number:
