For Children's Sake is a program that provides assessment and
treatment by psychology graduate student clinicians for children
exposed to domestic violence. Assessment information is gathered
from significant others in a child's life such as parents, teachers,
and siblings. Treatment interventions include individual and group
counseling, parent consultation and education, and teacher consultation.
Any family member who has experienced domestic violence may call
For Children's Sake for assistance. With appropriate written releases,
social service agencies associated with a family may also make the
initial contact to arrange assistance.
There is no fee for services since funding is provided through
a grant from the Office of the Illinois Attorney General and is
administered by Illinois State University Department of Psychology
faculty member
Adena
B. Meyers, Ph.D.
