Approved Projects Using Telephone Surveys: None
Occasionally, faculty or students in the Department of Psychology may
conduct research using a telephone survey methodology. In such cases,
the proposed research would have been approved by the Institutional Review
Board (IRB) at Illinois State University, and the researcher would clearly
identify himself or herself as a faculty member or student in the Department
of Psychology at Illinois State University. He or she would then describe
the nature of the study and secure potential participants’ assent
to participate in the research before soliciting any responses to specific
research questions.
The Department of Psychology Research Web site identifies research projects
that have been approved by the IRB to use a telephone survey methodology.
If you have questions about these projects, please contact the researcher
affiliated with the project. If you believe you have been contacted by
someone requesting your participation in a research project in the Psychology
Department at Illinois State and do not see the researcher or project
listed on the Research Web site, you are encouraged to contact Dr. Neil
Skaggs, Interim Chair at (309) 438-8651 or by e-mail at ntskaggs@ilstu.edu.
