PSY 392 Replaces PSY 320 as Capstone Option
PSY 392 Senior Seminar replaced PSY 320 History and Systems of Psychology as the default capstone course for psychology majors in all catalog years. As a result, PSY 320 is now a "pick 4" PSY elective.

PSY 111 Changes
1. PSY 111 Introduction to Psychology is only for psychology majors.
2. The credit for PSY 111 is now four hours.
3. PSY 111 is only offered in the fall semester.

New Capstone Experience
PSY 391 Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Apprenticeship is a capstone experience. The prerequisite for PSY 391 is PSY 291 Special Projects: Undergraduate Teaching (formerly PSY 290.02) for 3 hours. PSY 291 and 391 must be with the same faculty member.

IDS 395.03 Replaces PSY 299
In order to graduate with Departmental Honors in Psychology, Honors students must register for IDS 395.03 Honors Thesis: Psychology for 3 hours, complete a senior thesis, and present this thesis at the department's Honors Colloquium during the spring semester. IDS 395.03 replaces PSY 299 Independent Honor Study for the departmental honors requirement.

PSY 231 Added as Prerequisite
The prerequisites for the following "pick 4" elective PSY courses are PSY 110 or 111 and PSY 231:

PSY 366 Cognitive Psychology

Limited Enrollment for PSY 215
Enrollment in PSY 215 Educational Psychology is limited to only Education majors.

PSY 138 Changes (effective fall 2005)
1. The credit for PSY 138 Reasoning in Psychology Using Statistics is now four hours.
2. The math prerequisite for PSY 138 is MAT 120 Finite Mathematics or MAT 145 Calculus I.
3. PSY 138 is no longer cross-listed with ECO, GEO, and POL 138. Students in catalog year 2004-2005 and earlier can still fulfill this course requirement by taking ECO, GEO, POL, or PSY 138. However, psychology majors are strongly encouraged to take PSY 138 to provide the best preparation for PSY 340 Statistics for the Social Sciences.

Limit on )ut-of-Class Experiences
Psychology majors may not register for more than 15 hours of any combination of the following: PSY 287, 290, 290.01, 290.02, 291, 299, 390, 391, 395, 398, and IDS 395.03. PSY 290 and 291 are limited to only nine hours.

Additional Elective Hour Required
Students who have been admitted to the Major and who have taken PSY 110 Fundamentals of Psychology (formerly Explaining Human Behavior) or an equivalent course are required to complete 10 hours of PSY elective courses. This additional hour is due to the increase from 3 to 4 hours for PSY 111 Introduction to Psychology. This requirement applies only to students in the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 Undergraduate Catalog.
