Department of Psychology at Illinois State University

Graduate Sequence in Developmental Psychology

Welcome to the Developmental Psychology sequence, Department of Psychology, at Illinois State University.

The Developmental Psychology sequence provides preparation in lifespan development using a distinctly ecological and interdisciplinary approach. The curriculum offers in-depth exposure to developmental theories, methodologies, and applications within each of the following age sectors: infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and aging. The sequence offers a two-year master's degree in Psychology

Students may choose either a predoctoral focus, designed to prepare them for advanced graduate study and academic careers, or an applied focus, designed to prepare them for careers in a diverse array of community settings that provide human services requiring training in developmental psychology.

On our Web site, you will find a wealth of information about the sequence, including faculty, students, facilities, course requirements, as well as contact information so we can answer any additional questions you may have. There is even an application information page, where you can print out an application.
