Diversity Advocate Award

Qualifications

• Must be a full-time student admitted to the Major in Psychology or a Graduate Program in Psychology (separate undergraduate and graduate awards are available)
• Must be in good academic standing (i.e., not on academic probation) and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and/or safe environments on campus and/or in our community

Application Process

Eligible students should email an electronic copy of the following to the Chair of the Psychology Department Awards Committee.

• A completed application, including evidence of commitment to diversity, inclusion, and/or safe environments manifest in the department, on campus, and/or in the community

Selection

The Department of Psychology's Awards Committee is responsible for awarding the Diversity Advocate Award each year if there is an eligible candidate. Typically, one undergraduate student and one graduate student is selected.

Stipend

The award is typically $500 per recipient each year. The amount of the award will be determined by the department's Awards Committee.

Distribution

The department chair is responsible for distributing the award funds and for appropriate publicity related to the presentation of the award.
